For example, can I buy a new (unused) 2004 model vehicle from some clearinghouse somewhere?

Best bet is to call around to some dealerships and see what is available. If they bought the bikes outright they usually hang on to them till they are sold. If they are still owned by the manufacurer then usually they are sent back to warehouse. You can usually get a great deal on these bikes. The dealerships are also interconnected and can check all over the country to see if what you want is available. Just dont be surprised if they would rather sell you one of the newer models than work with you on getting an older model even if it is brand new. So as I said check around and see if you can find one that will do a search for ya. Hope it helps and good luck best way to get around is always on two wheels.

Unsold models we just leave in the showroom and sometimes markdown depending on what the new year has new. If the new year model is signifcantly different, you get a large markdown. If the new year change is minimal or nill, there won't be much of a markdown.
