You could get her a make-up set and/or a purse... My daughter always loves getting different kinds of lip gloss. Does she have a favorite store? You can give her a gift certificate tucked in the arms/paws of a stuffed animal. Or, you can give her a "money tree." Buy a small tree or topiary at a craft store and tie some candy and some 1, 5 and 10 dollar bills to it with ribbons.

Take her shopping and let her pick out a few gifts. I have an 11 yr old and she LOVES to shop. Make a day of it just you and her and the mall! She gets gifts that she really likes and some quality time with mom! What a b-day!

Well, she is your daughter so you know her taste. It's usually safe to get CDs, Bath & Body stuff, or $. If you want to really make it special try to take her to the mall and give her a little shopping spree, take her on a weekend trip or buy her a ticket to her favorite artist's concert! Have fun!

Get her a Nintendo DS. Kids her age love that stuff! An mp3 player is cool too. If she's anything like my niece, she'd love a little purse, and a makeup kit too!... (nothing too grown though!!!), just some lipgloss, and cute nail polish.

Ask her what she want's? Clothes, make-up. Necklace, Cash, gift card to her favorite store. My son is 12 and he wanted cash, he said the big thing right now for girls and guys is cash, that way they can buy what they want. I think it makes them feel alittle more grown up. Cash-in Birthday Card!

12 years old's love to shop and feel independent, either get her a visa gift card (the whole credit card thing will really excite her) or a gift certificate to her fave store, and give her a day to shop on her own.

Make her a basket full of girly stuff. Such as nail polish nail files scented soap perfume, stuff like that. My neice love the one I put together for her. I even put a pink razor and shave cream in it, w/ her moms permission.

Take her for a manicure and a pedicure. It will make her feel more grown up. And hey, she'll look great just in time for school. That is unless they don't allow nail polish or she all ready goes for manicures.
