Hi there,
I've been with Amway for many years, though I'm not in North America. I recently started a site where people can find and share information -
www.thetruthaboutquixtar.com
www.thetruthaboutamway.com
(both addresses point to the same site)
Feel free to come along and ask questions in the forums.

VERY HARD Business to succeed with today, becasue it's time has past. Everyone knows about Amway. There products are awesome, used them when I was in the business (31/2yrs) and still use them today. BUT, I couldn't make money because the market is flooded. Had the same trouble with two other simular businesses I've been in. HOWEVER, I have recently started with another internet based business, and after the first month, I was making money, and recouped my investment. The products are NEW, and the company is still fairly unknown, so the market for BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY is virtually untapped. I am excited to be in on the ground floor AND am already looking at international business, after just 3 months into this .
The secret is timing, market need, and availability of the company to provide for that need. Amway/Quixtar has the company, and there still is a need for the products, but the timing for someone like you or I to get in and make a small fortune is gone. If you are truely interested in running a business like this and WANT to make it VERY profitable you might consider checking this out:
WHAT ABOUT A BUSINESS INVOLVED WITH THE HIGH PRICE OF FUEL?
All the Government and News reports can tell us are to keep our tires inflated to the proper pressure, change our filters and do regular maintenance on our vehicles. But there's a new product just brought to market that REALLY WORKS, comes with a 30-day Money Back Guarantee AND boasts a minimum guarantee of a 7-14% increase in your MPG.
This site can show you how to get set up and how to begin marketing this product:

My wife and I are though we are not participating. We maxed out our credit card in a matter of six months after starting. The couple who signed us up are selling their house. They have given away two of their dogs since signing up and we never see them anymore because they are always gone doing home plans and spend every weekend going to rallies and conferences. I can't remember the last time they were at church. Quixtar has become their life and god. Another couple who signed up under our uplines have just lost their house. They could afford books and CDs and other tools, but could not make their house payment. Their daughters are becoming horrible children because their parents are never home. They are always doing business related stuff. This couple has sold nearly everything they owned all for about $150 a month even though they have been doing it for a year and have been doing everything their uplines tell them to do. Many of the products are inferior. Even one of our upline said the Artistry line of makeup was not nearly as good as what she used before becoming an IBO, but uses it only for business loyalty. I found the tuna to be gross, the paper towels thin, the cotton swabs defective and poorly made, the cat litter was dusty and did a poor job of absorbing odor and the cats turned their noses up at the cat food. I found myself telling friends half truths to try to get them signed up. I was losing my integrity and my wife was becoming greedy. Worst of all it was damaging to our marriage. We were told that the only investment was about $47 to sign up, however their was no mention of the hundreds of dollars you spend on "OPTIONAL" books, CDs, rallies and conferances.Your odds of success is less than 2% The only was to make money is by selling the tools and you don't get to do that until you have climbed the ladder considerably. If Quixtar was such a great thing why do they never call it for what it is. IBOs alway say "the Business," as if they are ashamed of it. I would take a look at these web sites:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4375477
http://www.merchantsofdeception.com/

Quixtar is a cult that has sucked in several of our friends and almost sucked us in too.

I also started my own business and I love it. I know a few people who have worked for Amway and were not successful. If you don't mind me asking how much did you invest so far and how do you like it? Thanks
