Since Overhand throwing was not allowed in baseball until 1884, I would think that there is NO rule against under hand pitching, though used seldom if at all because it is linked so closely to the sport of softball, some pitchers do use a form of under hand called side arm or submarine pitching, it is hard to control for most people but can be easier (less stressful) to the arm.

In the early days of baseball underhand pitching was common. It is still legal but a pitcher would have to be crazy to try it today.

I don't think your pitching motion can be similar to that of a fastpitch softball player. You probably couldn't get the hard velocity needed to shut down major league hitting if you tried. Some guys just seem to have an arm slot down around 4 or 5 o'clock. Dan Quisenberry was pretty famous for his submarine delivery and was quite successful with it.

Yes. There have been several pitchers in the last 50 years that have done it. They call it submarine pitching in baseball.

yup, you can and at one point in history you had to pitch underhand from a much shorter distance.
