If the universe sprouted out of nothing...then nothingness certainly aint nothing! if everything is "matter" that is, unmanifested energy...then does that mean there is no "nothingness"?

and if everything is either manifested or unmanifested energy, then unmanifested enery is also a form of a formless manifestation...

so...nothingness would mean a dimension beyond even the formless manifestation...

then...it would mean that nothingness is a dimension beyond manifested and the unmanifested....

how can that be? or rather...what can that be?

Nothingness is your perception of an infinite lack of anything.
But then to imagine that... you would then have to imagine you, yourself did not exist and therefore the thought itself would not exist and what would be left would be nothingness!!

it's that silent space but a space that is not "nothing" empty....it's full. The universe sprouted out of nothing but that nothing was something, it just wasn't tangible......it was just love/bliss manifested n it wanted to split and explore itself ........nothing is beyond manifested and unmanifested because nothing is not nothing the way human language describes it...our language is limited when describing the divine...nothingness is who we really are.....

Nothingness is being in a place of no mind. The space between your thoughts. The silence between the notes. Its where we came from and to where we will return.

Nothing is a lack of everything, void or vacuum are good descriptive words for this.
As for the begining of the universe the big bang was supposed to have come from superdense matter, a ball of matter so compact that it held everything currently in the universe. there was never nothing,(well thats what they say anyway).

When you look at a blank piece of paper, it has 'nothing'. It only becomes something once draw on it.

When you are concieved your mind is the same, it is blank. Then you start learning from the world around you, and it gets filled with things.

This of course is all relative. One mans nothing is another mans something :)

Nothingness in the material world could be the "Void", and in the emotional, mental, and spiritual world would be "detachment".

Nothingness is the absence of everything imaginable.

For me that would be the absence of GOD.
