Yes, it's extremely interesting.
It's interesting in and of itself in the areas of characteristics of political discourse, possible distinctions between the discourse of different parties, and also different races and genders in politics.
It's relevent in that it could also serve to deconstruct some of the political obfuscation that occurs.

Infuriating is a better word. When I see media coverage of Bush in New Orleans yesterday, praising the feds for all they have done and that they "stand behind" the recovery, I find it hard not to laugh, then get angry. Personally, I am tired of being angry each morning when reading the paper, each evening when watching local and national news. The political strategies are so transparent, a blind person can see through them, and the conservatives then want to blame the "liberal press" for the nonsense the conservatives??? create. I find nothing conservative about these conservatives. I find no strategy in their agenda but for lining their own pockets, and if it were not for the "liberal press," god knows to what extents they would go to make a buck. EVEN with the press, the number of crooks caught in this administration is mind boggling. AS for the Dems, I have found them to be remarkably quiet during all this mess....strategy or none, they have failed greatly in protecting America ...and it is only the press that has been any kind of check valve. Even then, we are subjected to revisionists, daily, as to what "Didn't happen," as if it were all a lie by the same press that uncovered the messes. And there are many, many messes today...more messes than I can remember in any administration in my long life. Good luck

it is interesting to me because i would like to be able to recognize the rhetorical strategies of politicians versus bad logic versus just plain stupid things designed to cause an emotional reaction.
that doesn't mean i find political talk interesting.
