He sold his insurance business purchased during our marriage and did not disclose a great deal of money (assets) to the court. He claimed the business purchased during our marriage was not mine. In Florida it is 50/50. It took me two years to divorce him and I am in enormous debt due to becoming ill while being married to him and being unable to work. And my settlement is extremely small. Thank you.

The IRS would be glad to investigate. They get useful info from ex-spouses all the time, and pay a (taxable) reward. Plus you can go back to the court and reopen your case.

But you need hard facts.

Yes, get a good attorney and take him back to court. Gather any and all evidence that you can without letting him know that is what you are doing. Chances are, if he hid that much money, he purged himself in court. Furthermore, the divorce decree may be void if he did lie. Contact a prepaid legal services firm. That way you can pay a very small fee each month, but get answers to all the questions you have.

I searched and came up with the results below:

Sorry to hear about your poor health.
You have to ask yourself how much more do you want to persue this man and his money.
The IRS can investigate but whether you can aquire any funds is tough to answer. It could also be very time consuming and he may fight you. What was your divorce lawyer doing for two years?
Courts just don't want to hear from you after the closing papers are signed unless you've got hard evidence of fraud.

If you have signed papers already, you are probably stuck with settlement. Did your attorney look for hidden assets? It is hard unless you are talking millions to hide assets. Everything in sales is a public record & easy to find. If you can prove he used fraud to hide assets you may have a chance at taking him to cleaners.
Lesson - no rushed divorces - sign after money is in order.

Contact an attorney, the state bar association is a good place to check their background. Often, they will offer a free consultation. Some law schools provide free legal help, too!

You cut up a flat by using paying an volume equivalent to a minimum of one 0.5 of your internet fairness. Say the fee is a hundred and the loan is eighty. The fairness is 20. One 0.5 of it is 10. you will possibly desire to pay the ten by using giving up another sources. or you will possibly desire to get a sparkling loan for ninety. you will possibly desire to attempt to make the fairness smaller by using asking that the fee of a sale be figured in.

You are a perfect example of why I will never get married again. It seems to me women are always out to get whatever they can from a man. Even if they have to leave him to get it. You probably fell ill due to bad karma.

I agree you should get a job and provide for yourself. Whatever happened to feminism?

Looking at all these women's answers it appears I am correct.
