A grade point average of 4.0 is practically perfect, which means anything above half of that (2.0) is an average mark.

Get your lecturers to explain the grading system to you. I have completed a degree (in the UK) and I am STILL confused by their grading system! The only way to know for sure is to ask! :)

Ask your tutors if they feel that you could do better. They are there to help, so don't be shy or afraid to ask.

Good luck in the rest of your course. :)

I think a GPA of 2.6 is a little less than average. Around a 3.0 would be average. But it's only your first year, you've still got a ways to go and still have lots of time to bring up your average.

Best wishes to you and congratulations on your hard work of furthering your education!

I would personally try to get it up to a 3.0 at least, but a 2.6 is still good. That is a high C average. Just because it is good though doesn't mean you should strive for higher.

It depends on the scale that your University uses.

well, an "a" is excellent. a "b" is above average. "c" is average. "d" is poor. "f" is failing. so really, your inbetween an average and above average. sounds good to me! by the way, good luck in school!!!

It's not terrible but it could be better. Just give it time sure you'll do better.
