I'm going to Barcelona in a few weeks and will be staying at an apt for 3 nights. Segrada Familia is cheaper and is advertised as only 10 mins from Las Ramblas by metro. The EL Raval apt is advertised as only 5 minutes walking distance to Las Ramblas. I heard Las Ramblas is where all the nightlife is. We also plan on taking the tourist bus.

Both apts are about ten minutes walking distance from metro stops. WHich would be better to stay at? It's my first time to Barcelona so any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Most visitors stay in or near the Ramblas or in the Gothic Quarter just to the east. This is a good base from where you can explore the city's sights by day including Gaudi's masterpiece, the unfinished Sagrada Família Cathedral, see http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/barcelona.htm

I would go to Las Ramblas, the Sagrada Familia area only has the unfinished church, nothing else to see, in my opinion it's not the better part of Barcelona, except for the church itself...
