Seems like I have heard that rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck (if you believe in luck) Then again My grandfather said that a dog sleeping on it's back was bad luck and a sign of death. He would kick the dog and make it get up. So I guess that it was bad luck for the dog ;-)

Only if you are a farmer in a drought area. If you are the owner of a becah cottage on the seashore and need some rentals to pay your expenses it is pretty bad. If you are a trucker going through urban areas it is also a slippery pain.

As a general expression it sounds dumb, like an old wives tale where the wives were hitting the sauce when they thought it up.

Actually, it's a sign of forgiveness and cleansing. Think Noah and the great flood. It was God's cleansing and forgiving the earth of sin and debauchery.

I have never failed to go to a funeral that it didin't rain.

in Hawaii it's considered "blessings"

they have lots of words for rain. they have lots of kinds of rain.

I knew a girl who was driving with this guy on the freeway and they went through a wall of rain. just for a second --downpour. and then nothing.

or I'd be walking around and it'd be sunny and the wind would blow little raindrops and they'd hit my face. . .
