I was just wondering if anybody has crossed the US boarder by train from Canada does it take long. I have deon this by bus not train does anybody know does it take long? I will be going from Toronto to Buffalo.

Im crossint the board from Toronto to Buffalo. Please no posts from webapges i am looking for someon who has done it themselfs.

I have done it, but not in quite a few years. It seems to me the train crossing always happens in the wee hours of the morningso they wake you up for passport checks, etc. I think the train takes longer than the bus.

At the main train station in Vancouver, passengers using the Amtrak train to Seattle are required to pass through US "pre-clearance facilities" and pass their baggage through an x-ray before being allowed to board the train, which makes no more stops before crossing the border. This is not done for the popular New York City to Montreal (The Adirondack) or Toronto (The Maple Leaf) lines. Instead, passengers must clear customs at the actual border.
