As a person, I think he's great. As a professional, not so much because he seems to dish out easy answers.

As a third year psych major, I don't really have time to watch his shows, but the ones I do catch are wonderful. As far as his answers bein easy, well, it all has to do with his quest. All of his quest are emotionally distraut but it's usually things that millions of Americans face. Obesity, relationship issues, ect. The reason his answers are simplistic is because he deals with simple topics.

I do not have to be a 'psychology major' to have an opinion on Dr. Phil.

He is a pill and one that is hard to swallow. He is Oprah's token white boy made for 'homogenized' TV. Who gives a shite what a person he is like. As a professional, he is a hypocrite. He is no better than a con-artist and has used his position to take advantage (sexual and financially) of his patients.

He is unethical and unprofessional. The fact that he has such a 'cult' following is due to the fact that most Americans are poorly educated and weak of mind.

Dr. Phil is like a box of Tide. The packaging looks great and the commercials are daunting. But once you use the product you find out for yourself that it is bull-shite.

Do you really know him on a personal level? I think if he practices what he preaches, then he's doing good. He takes an
approach that is called "Solution Focused." There isn't enough
time to apply the psychoanalytical approach! Many practioners don't feel it is that helpful to analyze every nook and corner of one's life. So the focus is mostly on what can be done to achieve the desired goal? So the clients need to come up w/identified beahviors--it sounds simpler than it is for the ones involved. I think he has some good points. i'm not convinced about his skills, training! His son is marrying an ex-playboy playmate. Good
values!

i do no longer think of he's the main suitable obtainable, yet I do think of he's stable for people who ought to take heed to some harsh residing house truths to wake them up. it is unlike he in simple terms yells at human beings, he provides them innovations and shows them diverse avenues. There are some clientele who decide for to be enabled and handheld, yet Dr Phil is a needed "evil" lol.

i think he is more of an enterainer than a serious professional. yes he does give some good general advice, however, he sounds a lot like a pop psychology book. while entertaining, not always on track or based in psychological theory.

He imposes his views on others. He has a specific way of looking at ethical topics, and often I do not agree with him at all. He's a clever guy, that's for sure, but he's trying to brainwash people to have them see things his way.
