I was personally unable to see Mars from my location due to excessive solar interference. But those of you who were better placed to make plans based on the exciting emails about Mars' once in a lifetime "big as the moon" appearance must surely have something to report!
I await with baited breath.

C'mon guys! We KNOW it was a hoax, and you needn't repeat your explanations!
We want to hear from the chumps who went out around midnight, Sunday August 27, 2006. TELL US WHAT YOU SAW! How many moons!!

This was a hoax emal from Augist 2003. When it was the closest it had been in history it was not the size of the moon in the sky, but looked the same size as the moon if viewed at 75X through a telescope. This was well hidden by photos and large letters so you have to read the hoax email closely. As for Mars right now it is on the other side of the sun about as far away as it can get.

It's a hoax..
I heard about the Mars hoax and the answer is no . I'll tell you the real scoop on it . In 2003 it was in fact true ! Mars was the closest it's ever been on August 27 2003 .
The next year a New York Observatory reprinted the story again on the August 27th date for a joke . It was hown in the states on the local news and they said " The latest Mars craze is going on again this year , It was said to be started again by a new york observatory as a joke and well it's been listed as spam. And it currently is circulating the internet as a forward . We spoke to our local astronomers to get the story and they showed us where Mars is . Under the horizon till next year. t's completely not true this year , It did actually happen last in 2003 as we all know but this time it's a joke. an April fools joke . No madness intended . "
So it's been floating around for 2 years . Actually there is alot of it going around, crazy emails floating areound of it , observatory phones ringing off the hook .
It has turned into one big hoax . For further reading put in Mars Hoax into google & google news .
Next year the Mars Hoax will float again I bet !

a million) probably Sydney 2) This freshman Austin. He changed into great useful. i'm a jr and hes in basic terms so sweet. i'm taking him lower than my wing. 3) Jacob. I hate him. i am hoping he receives hit by using a bus. That finished difficulty changed into so ******* stupid. Now you get a narrative. i have loved him in view that eighth grade and he knew it. yet he had a female friend so i did not bypass after him because i actual appreciate peoples relationships. and then about six months in the past he kept complaining to me about his relationship issues and he ended up breaking up mutually with her. and then he made it look like he loved me. And he kissed me. And we were "courting" yet we weren't. and then even as he wanted to have sex and that i suggested I wasn't waiting he left. 4) Sydney, shes an excellent chum. 5) Kylie. we've general one yet another in view that we were toddlers.

That was all a hoax. It is still floating around cyberspacxe how big mars was. It was meant to be 2003, but it is still there...
