Hey, I just want to encourage you not to worry, but I know from experience that is easier said than done. With my 3rd baby (who is now nearly nine months), I had an ultra-sound at 6 weeks 2 days, all they saw was the yolk sac, went back at 7 wks 1 day, and they picked up the heartbeat-it is normal, so try not to worry about it and hopefully this week will go fast for you. Congratulations!! If you want to keep in touch, E-mail me as I recently found out I am pregnant again and almost 8 wks. along.

Congratulations! Before five weeks the embryo looks more like a piece of rice or a bean. I had fertility treatments so I was looked at more frequently. I also had vaginal sonograms instead of belly.... I have pictures of my son at barely four weeks. The nurses were able to tell what they were looking at before that time and they would show me on the screen, but it was hard for me to see. In the nine week pictures, his head is visible as well as his eyes and arms. It could be possible that they are a little off on how far along you are. Even the position of the baby can make it hard to see. In any case, continue taking care of yourself and don't stress out to much about not being able to see it... your doctor is looking after you and sees it and hears it. In just a few months you'll get to see and hold your baby! Congrats again!

When I found out I was pregnant I was approx 5 weeks along. My Dr suggested setting up the first U/S (for accurate dating) at around 8 weeks because ,according to him "there isn't much to see before then".
The fact that your numbers are climbing is a sure sign of a viable pregnancy and that so far everything is going good.
Congrats on your baby and I hope your next appt goes well and you get to see your little one.

My first ultrasound was at eight weeks. even at that point the baby looks a bit like a squirming blob with little stumps for arms and legs... so don't get too excited. Your baby will start looking less like and alien and more like a baby after 12 weeks or so. you won't be able to find out the sex until around 18-22 weeks, by then the baby looks human.

when you turn 7 weeks you should be able to see the baby better. I have ALL my ultrasounds since 6 weeks yet, I am a high risk carrier. At 6 weeks you prob. only seen a dot and my next week the dot will be a little larger. IF he does a pelvic ultrasound those are better to see the baby on. Yet like I said it will still be a little dot like. GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES! CONGRATS!

I did an ultrasound at 71/2 weeks and saw the baby. It wasn't really formed and it was tiny but I saw it. I don't think I was seeing the yolk sak. Baby's have already began forming at 6 weeks he should've seen something.
