So I'm leaving for Cabo this Saturday (Sep 2nd) for 8 days. A little bit worried about the rain- they say it only rains 7 days per year in Cabo & I'm wondering how many times has it rained in Cabo so far? I know it's not exact science, but I need something to look forward to. Thanks soooooo much!

Yup... POOR ME! We booked this trip2 months ago- the whole point of choosing Cabo instead of Cancun was to avoid hurricane- but guess what, I guess it's unescapable! We have until Thursday midnite to cancel our trip & only get charged $25 cancellation fee. But that is still up in the air... most likely we'll cancel though, unless by some miracle the hurricane dissipate. Anyway, I found a live webcam of our hotel, obviously it was disabled due to hurricane John that's scheduled to hit Cabo by Friday. But the frame was freezed on Wednesday & just look at how beautiful our hotel is: http://www.cabovillas.com/campage.asp

My b/f & I are totally bummed! We are not frantically looking for another destination spot. Any suggestions are welcome, and if anyone hear of any positive developments on Cabo for the next couple of days feel free to let me know. Thanks!

You may want to contact your hotel and see if they have a sister resort elsewhere you could swap for. You'd have to try to change your airline tickets too. If it doesn't work out, I'd pay the $25 and rebook a different date. Cabo is absolutely gorgeous normally. And it's true...it only rains 7 days a year, and those days are usually in September. It's just an unlucky coincidence that it is happening during your vacation.

Cabo San Lucas is a desert, and yes it is true that you could count how many times it rained a year on both hands. Don't worry though the beaches are beautiful even though there isn't really sand, it's more like little rocks, i believe theres only one beach that actually has good sand. It can get really hot during the day but at night it can get a little chilly depending on what time of the year it is. I was just there a couple months ago, you'll have a blast, it's somewhere to stay just for a couple days though. They should be getting some rain now with this hurricane that will pass through Cabo, right now I believe the hurricane is at a category 4 so it can get bad. Make sure you check out that. I hope the hurricane doesn't change your plans!

I've been in cabo in Sept. where the rain has blown sideways for several hours, but then the sky breaks open and its dried up and sunny by noon. I've also been through a couple milder hurricanes in september. Have fun.

So far we had 4 days of rain.
Righ now we are expecting the hurricane John for friday morning, that means 2 or 3 days of rain, and that's it.
Just wait one week and everything gets back to normal.

Oh I'm so sorry for you...we were there a few years ago after a bad hurricane...they had things pretty well cleaned up after a week, but you're flying in the day after??? Check with your hotel and your airline first!! Ack! Good luck!
