It will not act like it has a virus. Instead the Ipod will say it found a corrupted file, an instead of playing the music, it will skip through all the titles of the songs...continuously.

Gotta love this new-age technology!

No, the ipod could not get infected. If it is not a legit mp3/aac/ or whatever format file, then it will not be able to be transfered throught iTunes. Make sure you are using iTunes though. If you are, absolutely no need to worry.

depends where u get it from legal or illegal there is some superb illegal music that is better quality than the stuff u pay 4...use bittorent and download high bitrate music and enjoy music...i belive it should be free :)

I would only download music from sites that are trusted and have been around for a long time. For my iPod, I only use iTunes!

Data files cannot contain viruses. It is only executable files, or scripts, or other forms of programs with interpreters which can cause viruses.

It is unlikely that music files could contain a virus. (they are just files which another program reads)

Scan the files with Norton or McAfee BEFORE you download them.

yeah it can do that because it happened to me and ruined my ipod needed to buy a new one but i dont think it was virus

Yeah, it might. And then ruin your iPod. Thats what happened to mine like three times.

Your ipod won't be hurt. But it may screw up an any other videos or music you have.

most of the time it will play but b crap quality or wont play atall but beware they can crash ipods but i havent heard of viruses on the ipod on your pc yes but not the ipod!
