John was into heavier drugs & Yoko was into all kinds of odd things---which had no interest at all to waht John was doing OR did with the Beatles. She has said numerous times when they first met that she did not like the beatles or their music. Being that John was so in love & obssesed with her besides the drugs, he was and wanted to slip away from the rest of his buddies. Heroin---can really put a damper on a persons abilities to reason and perform, & changes their whole attitude on whats goin on around them.

They were growing apart - marriages etc. Each wanted to do something different and could not do that within the constraints of 'The Beatles'. Paul wanted to take the band back to performing live... the others did not want to do that.

John had Yoko ... Paul had Linda and a new family... George was feeling limited by not having his songs 'accepted' - he wanted to spread his wings and play with others.... Ringo... well, Ringo was just Ringo. Right place right time.

Still the best band ever IMO

When their manager, Brian Epstein, died things started to go down hill. After that they started competing and fighting about who would be their new manager. Yoko just added "fuel to the fire" and broke The Beatles' close bond.

I know a lot of people are going to say Yoko, but she was a symptom, not a cause. They were growing apart musically and emotionally; not to mention the hell of trying to run Apple Corp. and the bad business decisions they were making.

John Lennin and Ringo Starr were having a gay love affair and Yoko found out about it. She demanded that the band break up or she would out both of them and file for divorce.
