Why are "hemorrhoids" called "hemorrhoids" instead of "asteroids"

LOL. I've thought of that too. I call 'em asteroids anyway

Because the word hemorrhoid actually means "flowing with blood". And a hemorrhoid is actually a varicose vein on the anus. I'm assuming you don't know what a varicose vein is either. That is when blood pools in the veins( because for one reason or another it is unable to be pushed back to the heart)and the veins eventually expand under all that pressure. In the medical world, we name things due to there medical relevance...NOT their comical value.

cause hemorrhoid in latin means something like bloodflow which is what it is

or meteorites...what about you concernd gods mistake...there soup possed to be a vein instead...so its a vein...and to fix his mistake...he indulge us to eat to a form of blood overpass the vein...
