neither gates or Gore invented the internet.
The internet was invented at the end of WW2 by universites for the militray to communicate undetected and has since grown to what it is now. if Al gore was alive then he was a infant .

Although I am not a fan of Al Gore, his quote about inventing the internet was taken out of context. He stated that he invented the internet meaning well anyway I have provided the link. I again am not a lib, but I don't like a lie or a spin.

Yes, Al Gore invented the internet. What he has yet to uncover is that the internet is the sole cause of Global Warming!!!!

To expand on the "plus's" answer from above, Gore was the one who took the initiative of creating the internet and used his political muscle to help influence bringing the internet to the public. True he didn't invent the technology, but he was the one who was most instrumental with bridging the gap between the Armed Forces and those who developed the technology known by the public today.
