I have endometriosis (really painful period cramps). Sometimes, I can't move for hours and sometimes, I can't sit down for hours (exercising, walking, etc anything to keep my tummy moving). Right now, I am having horrible, horrible cramps! I can feel them all the way around my middle. I feel like I am having back labor! I have taken midol, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I am wondering if I go to class tonight (first class) if I will be able to stay very long. Sometimes, I have to breath like I am in labor to help with the pain. Sometimes, I can't breathe at all because of the pain. I can't take anything stronger without having to lay down. What do ya'll think?

How about going to class introducing yourself to the professor explaining your are in a lot of pain and wont be able to stay but if she/he doesnt mind giving you the syllabus and leaving a tape recorder with him/her to tape the class. Then, you can make an appt with her during office hrs, pick up the recorder with the info and ask if there is anything else that she handed out that you might need...Or talk to a classmate and ask for her phone number and class notes. At least the prof. will know you really care and you wont fall behind
