It's a book about dealing with really hard circumstances, in an extreme sense.
Most people will never experience the harsh realities that Mr. Wiesel faced in the concentration camps, but we've all had bad things happen to us--the loss of a family member, or similar times of desperation. Write about something from your heart, and how it affected you.
Good luck (and also check out "Dawn" by Elie Wiesel--it's another great book in the same style.)

Why?
Conflict is plastered everywhere in the book with such clarity and composure. Did you read it through or did you READ it, meaning did you understand the points and ideas? Try flipping through it again and point out the struggles for life, life over family (blood thicker than water?), and many other points.
Good luck. Night is an excellent book. If you enjoyed it, I'd suggest reading The Accident, also by Mr Wiesel.

I think one of the major themes in the book was that, although he survived he is still haunted by memories of what had transpired. This drives his determination to never forget his experience and educate others to help prevent atrocities like the holocaust from ever happening again. Maybe there is something that has happened in your life that you learned from, and could never forget, that you would like to tell people about so they can learn a lesson as well.
I agree, great book. I read it in one sitting.

He wrote the book to tell of the hard times that he has been through and how he over came those times. Try comparing it to something in your life that happened that was hard.

It comes down to survival over overwhelming barriers.
Have you faced some "impossible" crisis?
