None of the books are ireplaceable and thus warrant "saving."
I can go to Borders the day after (or of even) the fire and be as good as new in about 2 hours of wandering the place like a zombie because you can never find where the correct topic is located.

Hypothetically speaking, #1 would be My family bible, along with anything pertaining reference, how to, and cooking, and of course photo albums. In actuality, I went through a mobile home fire last August, after grabbing my purse and calling my dog "CJ" to come we got out. Most was destroyed. I did manage to salvage some things. But most importantly my faithful companion and I were both safe. It was by the grace of God that it happened while I was home and awake!!

I think the fire must be pretty small for you to be calm enough to grab one book must less ten.Now I understand this is hypothetical, but why not ask what are your ten favorite books. And so I'll answer another question for you YES there are stupid questions and you just ask one!

My Bible is the only book I'd save. I'd concern myself more with getting my children and my husband out of the house.

None I would save myself. Nothing is more precious then my own life. If I live then I will read so I will save myself first.
