I'm an OB/Gyn Certified Nurse Practioner, right under a doctor, but have had my own practice for about 5 years now. Although I'm now a stay at home mom to my two beautiful girls!!
Take a test and see what it says. Sometimes your mind can trick your body into thinking it's pregnant, especially if you are trying and are thinking about it a lot. If the test comes back negative and you still haven't started your period in a week, call your doctor. They may suggest a serum (blood) pregnancy test. It will show lower levels of hormones then the HPT tests can. But try the home test first. You are in the right time frame to try a test.

I'm not a real doctor, but I'm quite familiar with the whole cycle thing.
Of course, there's no way to tell without a test, but if your last cycle had July 27 for Day 1, and you believe the next one should have begun with Aug 22 as Day 1 that would mean you generally have 26-day cycles.
Since a 26-day cycle is short there could have been the chance this cycle would, for some reason, have been a longer one; but usually, even a change in the number of days in a cycle doesn't involve a whole week. There are other reasons a period could be delayed or not start at all, but with a week gone since you expected it, and with what you've said about Aug 11, you're not over-reacting.
There's the chance Aug 11 could have been slightly later than would have been "the time", but not necessarily.
Some pregnancy tests will work for as early as a day or two after a missed period, so you should be able to tell. Read the package before buying one to see how soon you can test.

I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night.
Kidding, but I'm really not a doctor either. Don't think your going to get a huge amount of MDs hanging out here between patients. Your almost a week late, if that is very unusual for you it would be worth going and buying a HPT, just to see.
