No. I don't think we should. I think everyone needs to shut up and suck it up and go on. 50 years ago people didn't divorce like they do now. I think counseling truly can help a marriage, but did people go to counseling 50 years ago? People are whinny. Everything is not always perfect. It is called life.

I sincerely believe that we as a society will never outgrow marriage. There will always be people who need to say the words and feel the commitment to be fulfilled in their personal lives. I also believe that there are people that enter into marriage with the thought that if it isn't perfect, they can always get a divorce. Years ago, divorce wasn't really an option for "polite" society, and only whores and drunkards got divorced. It's no longer looked upon as shameful. And isn't THAT a shame?

Society, in living in a disposable culture, has applied the same ideas to their personal lives, often taking the easy way out instead of having to work for a happy relationship. People are too easily tempted to run nowadays.

Like I said in my question that you responded to, my wife and I have been married for 15 years, we have sex daily x2, four smart kids, do everything together, etc. No, we have not outgrown marriage, we have just been led astray by brilliant social engineering.....you know, the kind that scum like the Bush Administration thrives on to commit mass murder and blame it on others so they can profit from war. And trust me, Bush didn't think of this. This stuff has been in the works for 150 years and for the past 50, it has been in overdrive.

No...that's the exact sentiment that feeds into our disposable lifestyles. Just because others have chosen not to work thru difficulties....Just because others have chosen a lifestyle of noncommittment....Just because others think the grass is greener....does that mean you follow suit?
Facts: Married couples aquire more wealth in a lifetime than divorced.
Married couples live longer lives.
Personal opinion: Some people spend their life chasing happiness while others live in happiness....like anything else in this world you get out of a relationship what you put in....choose your spouse wisely and work together....their is strength in numbers...
