For a small town with lots of hotels/casinos and plenty of night life, I would recommend Laughlin, Nevada, which is about an hour or so south of Las Vegas. And Bullhead City Int'l Airport is right across the river (the Colorado) on the Arizona side. Shuttle bus or taxi will take you across in about five minutes. There are also water taxis and cruise boats going up and down the river, some all the way down to Lake Havasu.

My favorite is Cripple Creek Colorado. You have to fly into Co Springs and then drive about an 45-hour. There are several casinos on the one main road that runs thru town. They have $2 blackjack and the dealers at most of the casinos are really friendly. They will even joke around with the cards sometimes- not like Vegas where they are so serious. This town is VERY rural- you will see signs in town stating that there are roaming packs of wild donkeys that come thru the town- friendly donkeys though. They also have a pretty good playhouse where the performers do everything- the same people who sell you tickets do the acting, run concessions during intermission, etc- its pretty neat. Stay at the Gold Rush- it is one the hotels with the most amenities. And check the surroundings- explore. Ask the locals about Phantom Canyon Road and give it a whirl. Email me with questions.

There are hotel in the casinos and outside the casinos. Any kind of gambling you can think of in the casinos. Restaurants inside all the casinos. An outlet mall down the street. Each casino has entertainment. I believe they run shuttle from Memphis airport to the casinos. It's less than an hour away from Memphis. If I am thinking of the right ones.....there is a few in a group right next to each other. I think Horseshoe, Sheraton, and another or two right there together, but there are MANY others to choose from. The Grand is awesome.

Elko, Nevada. You can fly right into town. Small town. Some very good restaurants, especially Basque food. Several good size casinos. Beautiful mountain range just out of town. Everything you need as far as shopping and services. Very quiet and isolated from the real world. Just google Elko, Nv.
