I just received an email from someone at work. My first thoughts included anger, frustration and a need to respond immediately. Instead, I thought about it ,did a little checking, remembered how similar this was to past emails, and then relaxed. Half of it had nothing to do with me.Does this s0und like you? Or do you act upon your reactions quickly? Do you sit back and mull it over? Be HONEST.

I'm a virgo, therefore I am USUALLY very analytical. I'm in a high stress job, but have learned to cope with the level enough to make it seem casual. Overreacting usally generates problem, at home or at work. If you look at it with even steamed head you'll tend to solve the issue before it's even a problem. Don't sweat the stupid stuff, life's to short for that.

My first instinct is to always fire back... However I combat this by first writing a scathing email (leaving the "To" bar empty mind you) and then once I've got all my anger and frustration out I delete the angry email, take a few minutes to chill, and then write the calm collected email that will actually be sent.

If I didn't do this I wouldn't have a job or friends!

It is always BEST to "mull it over" especially when sending something like an email as it can be printed or sent around the world!!! Considering your responses to just about anything will always pay off in the long run.
Once its out, it can't be retrieved!!

I usually act on it. I believe my first instinct is usually right. I'm a very opinionated and vocal person. If you don't want to hear the truth or my opinion, don't ask. Especially don't send me e-mails or something that you know I don't believe in. However, the issue sometimes does arise where I sit and think on it. When I do that though, I dwell too long. It's always best to talk to hubby then and let it go.

I would like to say that I'm level headed and diplomatic when I handle things, but I'm really not. I tend to shoot off at the mouth and just react before I even realize that, as you said, this may have nothing to do with me or that there may be a better way of handling something.

i tend to flare up pretty quick, but I have been burned too many times from sending a response in frustration. I have get up and pace and calm down before I reread the email and think clearly

I got to say I have a temper. I take medicine that's expose to calm me down on lots of things. I think I probaly would go off though on the person if it was just a little bit about me.

I'm somewhere in the middle. I mull it over, but go with the instincts I had first.

I'm half Italian, but I might as well be full-blooded, and what I'm implying is no stereotype, trust me.
It seems that the gene for predisposition to aggressiveness is dominant and impossible to completely control for those who have it.

On important things at work, I take the evening to think about it, if the week-end is coming up, even better, more time to think. But on simple stupid things I tend to speak my mind.
