President Bush has been a wealthy man his entire life. He has been shielded from reality his whole life. He is probably more in touch with the common man from his 6 years as president than he ever was before even though he is kept inside a protective bubble by those around him and he is really not in touch at a all. He admits that he isn't much of a reader and if he watches the news its probably Fox News which anyone can see is about as fair and balanced as any other major news network in the U.S. Therefore, President Bush is about as in touch with the average American as Osama bin Laden from where I sit. What do you think?

his life is one big lie...he spent most of his childhood in maine and yet successfully comes accross as a good old southern texan. he is ivy league and yet many people in the south (who hate northern ivy league intellectuals) seem to love him. his lack of public speaking ability aside, I do not think he is as dumb as everyone says. he keeps things ambiguous as he speaks for a reason, no one will disagree when you can draw multiple conclusions from a statement. that being said I dont think he is who we have to worry about. if you think that they (Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Cheney) are letting him make any decisions then you are probably crazy.

Whatever you feel about President Bush, there is little evidence that he is out of touch with reality. On some matters, probably not the ones you have in mind, he may be less engaged than real zealots. On matters such as understanding the reality of terrorism in our lifetime, such as understanding the limitations of government, and the limitations of mortal man, he has a very good grasp of reality. His executive order overturning the expansion of eminent domain showed great understanding of reality. His pragmatism about Iraq showed a great grasp of reality. His courtship of the Clintons and Kennedys has shown naivete.

I see many drug and alcohol addicts who are out of touch with reality and are not President of the United States. Maybe one or two of them think that they are US President.
