My daughter, Annika, is 3 months old and sleeps about 6 or 7 hours a night, wakes up to eat, sleeps for another 3 to 4 hours and then dozes all day with usually another 3 to 4 hour nap in the afternoon. She seems to be awake for only an hour at a time. Am I crazy for thinking there's something wrong with this or should I just be thankful since I also have a 3 1/2 year old son?

Be thankful! She's getting the sleep she needs. I am dreading the age where they no longer take naps!

That is normally for that age to sleep like that. She might not do that much longer. So be grateful that she is doing that know and you can spend some time with your son. In a few more months she should be up more, but if you are that concerned about it then just try to make her stay awake a little bit longer. Have her go to bed at 8 or 9 then wake her up after you son wakes up then lay her down after lunch and then let her wake up on her own. That way you can get her on a schedule. It will make it easier in the long run if you can get her on a scheduled early.

She's right on track. I use babycenter.com for many questions I have had (and still do have). On average a 3 month old should sleep about 10 hours a night and have 3 naps totaling 5 hours for a total of 15 hours. Annika is just spreading her time out a bit differently. Here's the link to the sleep chart.

Good luck and enjoy.

A three month old SHOULD be sleeping 14 hours a day. That is not only normal, it is desired.

Do yourself a favor, get the book: What To Expect the First Year.

Important reading for any new parent.

There's no such thing as a baby sleeping too much! My son was born asleep & stayed asleep till he was 3 mos old. He was a normal size when he was born & wearign 18 mo sizes when he woke up! Babies sleep as much as their metabolism requires. I was envisioning a 6 ft 5 yr old! He's totally normal size tho, was by the time he entered pre-school @ 2 yrs old. He just had a heck of a growth spurt!

She's just fine. Babies are supposed to sleep up to 16 hours a day at that age. Count your blessings! I have a daughter that HATES sleeping.

Try playing some games to stimulate her a little bit, but I think that babies don't sleep for longer than they need to. Have a little patience, she'll be awake all day before you know it.
If you are worried, speak to your health professional.

Nothing wrong at all...

She is still a newborn.. and in the phase of just sleeping, eating and pooping.

But if it really worries just call and check with her doctor to ease your mind.

Congrats on the new baby.
