It could be both. More than likely its a game shes playing to see if it will get him to stay. But, I do know a woman who had 2 kids (boys) by the same guy, and they didnt work out and she seriosuly asked him to give her another baby and hope for a girl just so that all her kids would have the same father. She had a girl, now all 3 kids are by the same man. They are friends. So, if there are any other children in this marriage, maybe she's thinking like that.

Did u say "wrong"? It seems much of todays stuff is wrong. I'll answer by saying this. My husband and I divorced years ago. He's dying, and we started having sex. He doesn't have anyone else around and doesn't want to start anything. At this point of his life, he has nothing to loose, but, I guess doesn't want to be too care-free- since he's in a fragile state.
Another story: A woman is married to her husband, who is a diabetic, and the man didn't want any more children. The woman, who never had a child, wanted a child. She gave birth to another man's child, and now her and her husband are raising that child. They don't want the bio-father to have any relations to the child.

Yes that's wrong. Either she's hoping it will change his mind or she knows that there will always be a tie between them. Unless he doesn't have anything to do with the baby he would have to come see it, etc. I wouldn't want to bring a child into an already broken family. That's very unfair to the child. I think she is selfish for thinking this way.

It sounds to me like she's desparately trying to find ways to get her husband to stay. Even if the divorce goes through, he'll still be always a part of her life unless he becomes a dead-beat dad. She's also trying to guilt trip him with the whole "never be alone again" bit. She sounds a tad unstable. Perhaps your mom should suggest counselling to her friend.

There is some seriously flawed reasoning going on here. She's still married to her "friend" but wants to be prgnant before he leaves? Its no wonder he's leaving. Niether of your supposed reasons is good enough for having a child. It is not fair to any child to be brought into a single parent house.

of course its wrong! to bring in a child just to tie down a man is absolutely unforgivable i wish adults would grow up the child will be like piggy in the middle. the lady in question must be extremely insecure maybe your mum should suggest that she go see a counsellor or psychologist to help her work through her issues with her.

I don't know if it is wrong....
mum's friend sounds insecure, tooooo needy, clingy and I'd run from her as fast as I could.. Also I'd be glad that I had a vasectomy already in case I had a case of "stupid" before I could get away from her.
