I have done some research and all I can come up with is that Mr. Simmons last played for the Grand Rapids team in the CBA. I did find a site that listed him as a player for the Gary Steelheads last season, but when I visited their official site, he was not listed on the active roster.

I don't know if this helps or not, but I did try.
