This message occurs whenever i start burning my CD. Then it says the burning process failed at whatever speed i set it to burn at.

that means that there was a problem with the drive lens and that the laser power was not set correctly. this occurs when the lens is dirty or the drive is faulty. Try cleaning the lens or getting it serviced......

You are using old dye disks the new dye disks are x32 to x52 speed or bad media other meaning the laser cannot calibrate the correct gap to sector it needs to burn on the dye on the disk the dye is the silver coating on a cd and the blue or silver coating on a dvd disk

If you are not an advanced user, try going to options or settings and click on auto detect for the speed.

needs cleaning first
then replacing if doesn't cure
