There are two ways to approach this. You can keep on plugging and read your way through the whole book. Yes, you can do it. There is enough time. There is no way, at this point, for you to speed up your reading process, so don't fret about it. Just keep going.
The second thing you might want to do is AFTER you have finished reading the book, get a set of Cole's notes about the book. This will give you the encapsulated version, hit the highlights and explain some of the stuff that might be puzzling to do.
But it isn't a substitute for reading the actual book. You've still got a week to go, and that's lots of time to finish the book. Try breaking it up though. Read a chapter, get up and walk around the block, or take the dog out, or do a few minutes worth of exercises and think about what you have read, then go back and read another chapter. Jot down a few notes as you finish each chapter, so you keep a running account of where the story is going. You don't have to write an essay, or a paragraph, not even complete sentences. Just a few words to keep you on track and help you remember what you've been reading.
Good luck to you!

You say your Mom will know if you use notes or the movie - why not read every other chapter (that way your Mom will see you plugging away at it) and notes for the chapters in between. That way you'll show her you're really getting stuck in but you'll have a chance of finishing.

It sounds as though you're reading speed needs to increase and the best way to do that is practice, practice, practice. If you're getting near the time and are still not close to finishing, you can move to reading one chapter in three.

If all else fails you could always tell the school the truth - that you were late getting the reading list and, despite your best efforts, you couldn't quite finish it. I bet they'd understand, especially if you've made a good try.

That story picks up pace on its own in a few more chapters, so I'd recommend just hitting the book and reading it as fast as you can. It's a great book, and no movie will do it justice (certainly not the rubbish that has come out under that title in recent decades!).

u can try cliffsnotes or sparknotes

i would suggest watching the movie "The Count of Monte Cristo" with Jim Caviezel...it's pretty fun! and it can help you understand elements of the book that can be a bit "boring" at first.....

take notes on things that seem interesting Or confusing. underline quotes that will help u understand the story, the characters, etc. good luck~

Watch the movie is a great idea! But first find out if the movie is close to the actual book. You dont want to be talking about something you saw and it wasnt something that happend in the book.

i'm gazing the two, yet when I had to %, i could actual watch certain For Glory. certain For Glory is TNA's best PPV of the twelve months and its oftentimes the placement the place surprising activities ensue for TNA. this is unpredictable and it particularly has the ambience. We see many distinctive gimmick fits on the cardboard that have shown to be exciting and rapid paced such via fact the terrific X tournament, Monsters Ball, and others. We see a variety of prerequisites and we see many fits that would nicely succeed. i think of lots of the fits on the cardboard have means. certain For Glory has additionally been receiving adequate hype and is highlighted by making use of probable Sting's final tournament. What can create greater emotion, tension, and intensity? i think of certain For Glory would be an exciting PPV. Bragging Rights on the different hand is a clean theory and a clean PPV. besides the undeniable fact that, most of the fits seem repeats, yet with distinctive prerequisites. i don't think of there is adequate buildup for Bragging Rights via fact WWE in user-friendly terms has 3 weeks to buildup for the kind of PPV. i'm questioning if WWE is fairly taking Bragging Rights heavily or is that this PPV in simple terms yet another filler. i'm greater excited for certain For Glory and that i think of certain For Glory ought to particularly supply the hype. i'm hoping the two PPV's do nicely via fact i seem forward to gazing the two.

I agree with sasmallworld, watch the movie, and then read the book. You will be able to skim...not skip...skim some sections instead of full on reading them. Work out methods of comprihention you can do quickly and stick to it. You will get it done.

Hmm, step away from the computer, open the book and read till your done..
the computer and tv will both keep you from accomplishing goals that you, or somebody else, have set..
And, I'm not saying that to be mean.. I'm a tutor, and I know whereof I speak..

I'm going to date myself on this one,but here goes. Back in the day we would go to this building called the "Library" on the collage campus and on the third floor there was this room with a thing called the "Card Catalog". We would look up reports already on file and plagiarize them. After reading them of course.
