This computer looses the hard drive when it reboots. It dosen't happen every time. Hard Drive is thought to be good. Cables are thought to be good. What else should I check.

1. It's either your hard drive or the OS (windows).

2. The cheapest way is to take off your data files if you can get it to boot, then wipe out your hard drive, and reinstall windows.

3. If a clean install of windows does not help, then it has to be your hard drive.

Check your Windows installation. Although, some viruses can cause that also. Try downloading this, before you wipe your hard drive and reinstall Windows: http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/

run the HDD utilities on the HDD, if it an auto detect problem it can be either motherboard or HDD, take the HDD to another person's house and test it there, if it has the same problem you know its the HDD, if not then its most likely the motherboard

Almost certainly its driver is corrupt. Delete and reload the driver.
