A Vasectomy has the least risk and is easier to do. The vasectomy is done as an in office procedure and the man can go back to work the same day. A vasectomy is also easily reversed.

The tubal is instantly effective, where as a vasectomy requires a certain number of ejaculations to clear the body of sperm, so ejaculation is required for up to 10-14 (i think) times after a vasectomy. Once the man has drained his body of sperm, they are equally effective. Some say the recovery time for a man is alot less than the tubal for a woman. I had the tubal on Halloween morning and went trick or treating with my kids that evening. I know men who experience severe swelling after their procedure and some men walk through it in a breeze. Same as women, some women suffer greatly after a tubal. I think alot depends of pain tollerance of both sexes and if there are complications and the way the person cares for him/herself post surgery. If i had to do the tubal all over again, I would. My surgery was a great success and not very painful. There are more risks with a tubal because the woman is put under a general anthestsia, where as a man is given a local. Speak with a gynecologist for the risks, sides effects and success rates with a tubal, and speak with the correct specialist for the same with a vasectomy. Not sure the name of the speciality. Good luck.

Vasectomy is easiest. The recovery time is shorter and its just an out patient procedure. My husband had one, we are now getting it reversed. When the time comes to be done, he'll get a vasectomy again. Its just easier on him. I stay at home, so I need to be able to be up and around all the time. He can take of from work, hangf around the house and spend time with us, then go back. Me being limited to weight restrictions on lifting and how much movement would kill me. I'm active, the kids are active, at that point I'd have a 4th baby. Better for him to get a vacation out of the deal!

Vasectomy is a piece of cake. The worst part is the anticipation. I was in and out of the dr.'s office in about an hour and a half.

Had it done on a Friday, took it easy that weekend, and was back at work on Monday.

You can even have some fun with it. You will need to provide for your doctor a semen sample a month for the first three months to make sure all the little wigglies are out of your system. If you're lucky, you can get someone to *cough* assist *cough* you in generating said samples.

Both have a six week healing time where pregnancy is possible. Neither is 100% effective. There is always the small chance that a pregnancy could occur, even with both procedures done on both people. Both have the highest rates of success, and there are new procedures out there that if kids are wanted in the future, it could be reversed. Your best bet is to talk to your doctor and see what they recommend. The male can visit a urologist and talk to them about the procedure and find out about the statisics that way.

Tubal Ligation is always a better option for both the parteners keeping in mind all the risks and future planning also.
Tubal Ligation is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as Tubal Ligation surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her Tubal Ligation surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

it somewhat is not any longer something new. low fee sterilization has been around using fact the 70's. A vasectomy is many times unfastened, or perhaps the money value is under the fee of the computing gadget it somewhat is sitting in front of you.

If your man is willing...Tell him to go for it!! 1day for him to sit and watch TV with a bag of frozen peas on his pkg. and he'll be over it!! You on the other hand have to be put under and will need up to 6 weeks to recover!!!
You go through labor to have children, so let him suffer 1 day!!
Fair Trade!!!!!!!!!
