I have a 1964 allstate that needs a good paint job and some body work. There is a second coat of paint on the bike and a little surface rust. I have never painted a bike or car, but am willing to try. Any help will be appreciated?

try to remember that the prep work is the most important thing if the prep work isn't good the final coats will exaggerate all the imperfections. the ideal would be to rent a media blaster and completely remove all the existing paint fix any obvious body damage then paint the whole works flat black which will bring out the other imperfections that aren't easy to see the idea is to paint the project flat black and sand it thus showing the high and low spots. I would also recommend that if you want a quality job to use a good quality gravity feed spray gun ...if you haven't already guessed this is not an easy process there are alot of steps and alot to know in creating a quality finish feel free to message as your project goes and ill answer your questions as best as i can.

Look at the DIY channel on your computer . They just did a Vespa and painted it with spray cans. It looks nice.
Look under Automotive, then go to classic rides at the web site below
