None whatsoever.

Reincarnation is just like every other religious belief.

There have been cases where children "remember" a past life. One of the most prominent is the case of the current Dali Lama. Buddhists believe that the Dali Lama is a reincarnation of all previous Dali Lamas. Each time one dies, he gives information on where he will be reborn. But with the previous Dali Lama, he died suddenly, and so the Lamas had no idea where he would be reborn. They scoured the countryside, and finally came across a young boy who had always told his parents that he would live in the capital city. They put some of the old Dali Lama's possessions in front of him, along with many other items, without telling him which were which, and he picked out each item which had belonged to the previous Dali Lama as his own.

For better or for worse we are star dust with some billion years of evolution. We human beings have common "ancestors" not only with apes and monkeys, but sharks, snails or why not a humble carrot. Can you image one of those creatures having a rebirth after, for instance, being eaten? We are a big species, have changed the planet, can even destroy it or leave it out for other worlds..... but our bodies have a beginning and an end, only our job, generosity, our love and charity can fight the time and stay alive in the minds and the heart of the "livings" I don't think anybody, scientist or priest, is going to show proofs but our death certificates.

reincarnation proof
I have been asked to proove reincarnation. These answers are by no means exhaustive & i ask the sangha of thie website to please elaborate,correct....

A. Epistemic tools

For the non-Buddhas amongst us we have only 3 ways to ascertain if & how something exists:

Tool. .Object nature. .example.

Direct perception. Coarse/present to senses. eye apprehending form.

Inference subtle/hidden to senses emptiness,smoke on hill=fire

scriptural authority Very subtle rebith/other realms

B.Inclination of beings

1. Faith

For these beings rebirth/other realms exist just because Buddha said so.

2. Faith & inference

IF so much of what Buddha said ,i have experienced to be TRUE, THEN

with high probability,REBIRTH is TRUE

3. Pure logic

a) Subtle impermanence

Peter, who woke this morning(Po),is not the same as Peter on train(P1), is not the same as peter in office(P2) P3,P4........

conclusion

a succession of different peters means that it is a succession of new peters which means peter is constantly reborn.Cessation of Po(death) is arising of P1(rebirth) and so on.Cessation of Po is the last moment of THAT Peter & which will give rise(rebith) to P1,the fisrt moment of THIS Peter... . Likewise

(Pdeath) will give rise to (Prebirth).Just because we see this process in every day life but not at death is not a valid raeson to establish the Non-existence of rebirth but rather a valid reason to establish the incapacity of our senses to apprehend subtle objects.

b)Cessation of action produces an effect

The cessation(death) of an action(life) occurs in dependence upon causes. If there were nothing to cause the cessation of an action, action, in our case life, would never cease and therefore be permanent,no change which contradicts reality(conventional). However, since we expereience that actions do cease The cessation of an action has a cause.Since, whatever has a cause is a functioning thing & whatever is a functioning thing produces it`s OWN effect,it follows that cessation (flatline brainscan caused by blood clogging F.ex)is a functioning thing that produces an effect (rebirth)

There are many other lines of reasonings such as emptiness, dreams, karma that i hope will be elaborated by others. Mangalam

The proof is all around for everyone to see. It happens every 365 days.

The earth dies or goes to sleep in winter. It is reborn in spring. It grows lush and fulfills it's full potential in summer. The fruits of that rebirth are harvested in fall. Then the earth dies again in winter and the cycle begins again.

On a personal note, anecdotal evidence at best, I did past life regression in order to deal with a devastating, debilitating insect phobia. No other therapy worked, from behavioral modification to Freudian psychoanalysis. Nothing rid me of the phobia until I found a therapist who did past life regression. Once I revisited and looked at the lifetimes that created the problem, my phobia vanished. I welcome spring and summer now without fear and actually watch and enjoy what insects do in my garden. And yes. I began gardening with relish once this phobia was effectively dealt with.

Yes there is. Have you ever heard or read of a person being regressed, and hypnotized, and started to speak a different language, he couldn't speak in this lifetime, or they could play a musical instrument, here and now, that they never could have before, and did not know why? There are people in this lifetime that might have a terrible phobia of lets say water for instance, and they might have drown in their past life, and carried the cell memory over into this life. Have you ever read any of Sylvia Browns books on the afterlife? They are very enlightening to say the very least. I have read many books since the death of my parents, and have a better understanding of life after death, and I don't fear it nearly as much as I use to, and have more answers to questions that I use to wonder about. Try one of her books, they will make you really understand life and death much better!

There have been a few examples of children recognizing people they've never met and being able to quote things about the history of someone the other person knew.

I have a theory that evil spirits may be at work here. They are dead set on deceiving people, and this would be a doozy. I happen to believe that the Bible is complete in its warnings about demonic influence. It doesn't give any reference to re-incarnation that I know of, but it does give plenty of references about the schemes of the devil.

Proof? No. But many people have come up and said they remember their past lives. Not all of them are crazy. My friend Becka, for instance, can distinctly recall at least three past lives. And I'm talking details no one but an archaeologist would even care about, much less know. So, there is no hard-core, physical evidence to support the theory of reincarnation, but there is no hardcore, physical proof that discounts it. Pretty much. it's all on faith.

There are many scientists examining the question of the afterlife. Many people believe we do continue in some form. These questions have been man's history over time...seeking answers to the unknown.

Past lives is a small portion of the belief in reincarnation.

None at all. People who believe in reincarnation are basically afraid of death.
