One more thing... we have both been very honest and open about our feelings and we are both on seperate paths right now. I love him as both a friend and more, he loves me as his friend, nothing more.

If you're really in love with your best friend, theres no falling out. No-one can make themselves stop loving someone, its a natural part of life. What you can do however, is keep telling yourself that he/she is only your best friend and by loving them as a friend, and not becoming crazy in love, you will keep that friendship that means alot to you. This is definetely a sticky situation, if there isnt a problem with telling him/her how you TRULY feel, then maybe tell him/her, no harm done if they are your best friend. They'll understand, and heck, maybe they are even feeling the same way about you, but scared to ruin the friendship as you are. There should be no fear when it comes to love, we all take risks, and this is one your going to have to take, or you will never have complete satisfaction. Knowing the truth is better than knowing nothing at all.... Good Luck!

Why do you want to 'fall out of love' ?? Being in love is terrific and being in love with your best friend is the best of both worlds.

However, if you are NO LONGER in love, but were intimate, that changes the whole scenario. You cannot ever go back...ever, ever. Things will never be the same. They can't be. People need to realize that when they decide to go to the next level. Friends, a relationship, or lovers? Can't have it all unless you are in a committed situation.
