You know what, she lives in a place called Denial. My biological sperm donor is a pothead. He's knocking on 50 and still smoking pot. He hasn't got anything positive to say so he spouts ******** 24 hours a day. Your mom doesn't want to face the fact that what she's doing is wrong. Don't let her project her crap onto you. She drinks because she wants to. If she cared at all for her health and for your peace of mind she wouldn't drink. She's the mom not you and it's not your job to feel responsible for her problem.

Your mother is an alcoholic, it is a disease. When she is under the influence she will say many things that she doesn't mean. She is putting the blame for her problem on other people, including you. I advise you to try and get help for her, counseling really works but she must be behind it and actively want to be helped, as long as she does not consider her drinking a problem, it will be useless to try to help her.
Be strong and try not to take her remarks to heart, it is not your fault, whatever she might say. A true alcoholic will perpetually blame other things and other people for their problem while in essence the problem lies within.

Your mother is an alcoholic.. it is a sickness. she needs help. do not take anything that she says to heart. because it isn't her speaking.it is the booze.
Is your dad still in the house? if not that is part of the problem.. she is over whelmed .. They have groups where you can go to learn how to cope with a person in the family that is drinking.. Ask your councilors or someone where and how to get ahold of someone to talk to..
It can't be easy to live with i know..
she doesn't abuse you i hope.. If so talk to your grand parents or someone to get some help..
Sorry that you are having to go through this.. it is a rough one to deal with.. I don't know how to help you so please get someone to talk to.. and always remember nothing she says has anything to do with you. and until she admits to something being wrong she won't be able to quit drinking and get help herself.

She means that she can't cope with life and she doesn't want to admit it. It is common for people to blame others for their problems.
You could join ala-teen for teenagers of alcoholics. You could find other teens in your school with alcoholic parents. There are plenty of books in the public library and perhaps some in your school library on dealing with alcoholic parents. You could talk with your school guidance counselor.
I've known plenty of kids with alcoholic parents and they did wonderfully well in life, so although it is an unhappy situation and you may want to deal with the pain and consequences in therapy, you should be able to have a decent adulthood in a few years.

She is laying the blame of her drinking on you. If you are underage I would call child protective services and tell them what is going on.
If you are of age, then I would get a lawyer and have her committed in a treatment center.

She suffers low self esteem and by saying stuff like that to you, she is trying to bring your self esteem down, too. Ignore her catty comments- moms are jealous of daughters quite often. Just remember that when you decide to move out, you can move away from where she is. You really don't owe her anything except patience until you can leave. (And you don't really owe her that but it makes your time there more tolerable. Trust me.)

She does not mean what she says, while drinking. She is an alcoholic, it is a disease-like cancer, etc. She needs help to stop. You need to tell another grown-up what is going on and you need to look up Ala-teen and please CALL them!!!
