The limewire software is not illegal. It is illegal to download copyrighted material, which is almost everything you find there.

I subscribed to limewire on Sunday, as they said there was a special offer of about £14-00, When I'd finished applying they took £33-35 from my credit card.
I e-mailed to say I wanted a refund as I had been overcharged, they e-mailed back to say O.K. but would be charging an administration fee and it could take up to 14 days to be refunded to my account. To say the least, I am not happy.

the free version of limewire is illegal, but "limewire pro" is not, as you have to buy it. i'd go for that if i were you, it would be worth it because you'd save way more money having that program instead of having to buy cds.

Its like: Owning a gun is not illegal. But shooting someone with it is.

Limewire is not illegal. There is no law against owning or running a peer-to-peer software package. However, using software (Limewire or anything else) to download or upload copyrighted material is illegal.

I have no idea but I have been using it for years now and never had a problem. I would hide your songs though. So have a folder they drop into and then just take them out of that folder and put them in another one so it looks like you dont have any songs.
