Have you been discriminated against on the basis of your gender? If so, what did you to in response? Did you give up or resolve to fight?
I believe it does exist and should be fought!

Most definitely gender discrimination exists along with every other discrimination.

I fight it by seeing a female doctor and dentist. I also buy from female owned or controlled companies when given a choice.

I have personally never been discriminated against. However, I'm sure that all sorts of discriminations exist and occur on a daily basis. Does this make it right? No. Is there anything we can do about it? Only fight back when it strikes you and try to live your life in a non-discriminatory manner (what goes around, comes around!). This goes for EVERYONE, as all peoples can be discriminated against (including and especially WHITE, CHRISTIAN, MALES).

Yes, it still exists in the upper echelons of nearly all organizations. At the lower levels the people in power hire the employees who will do the best job for them and therefore make the most money for them. In the upper echelons, they hire the people that they want to be around.

Discrimination exists even at the college level. Some admit students based on their academic record and these schools have far more women then men. Others set a lower standard for the men and are more even in their admissions.

Gender differences, or rather the way we are treated differently, are everywhere. Next time you watch a music video, check out the crotch shots - all of women. The media has a male eye.
Look at the surveys of who does the domestic work - mainly women even if they are in full time employment. Who gets paid more overall in business, sport... for the same job -men. It's become so normalised it's not always visible. I think the question is whether we choose to embrace our 'different' role or fight for equal rights. Personally I have chosen to embrace to role of mother, carer and responsible for most of the domestic roles but fighting for equal rights in the workplace and not being patronised or judged according to my looks and age is an unending battle. I don't believe men have the same problems. Oh, and who has a day off when the kids are ill....?

Discrimination exists in all forms, including gender. Getting those who discriminate to admit it is harder than acknowledging it's existence. You can't fight it, mainly because it's government approved. The ERA showed is that.
Unskilled females were given jobs because they had to have a certain % of them in all areas of the workplace, or they'd cry about unequal opportunities. It didn't matter that they couldn't do the work, and most still can't.

One day, I went car shopping. When I got to the car dealer I put a bid in to lower the price of the car a bit. The dealer told me that it was impossible for him to lower the price. He also told me that he would get in trouble if he lowered the price at all. I told him I'd think about it and went home to tell my husband. When my husband went in, and talked the price down from 20,000 to 14 050. When it was time to sign all of the paper work, my husband told the dealer that he was going to call his wife in to help sign the paper work. When I walked in, the dealers jaw dropped! We didn't take the car, and we complained to his supervisor. He ended up giving us a better deal on a better car!

It does exist....always will....If we don't take a stand and fight for our rights.....nobody else will...The thing is....nobody wants to fight for anything, we would rather just stand back and let these things happen.....If it's not happening to you...it doesn't seem to bother ya...that's just society now!!! Life sucks!!! Now I'm all down!!!! :(

Yes, it does exist but do you really want to dig coal, carry trash or get shot?
Men naturally feel protective towards women and do not want them to forfeit their lives.
Only fight for positive things not total general acceptance.
Just think how many women one man could get pregnant but how few babies one woman produces.
Crude example but that's Mother Nature!
