Personally I don't think either a man or a woman should not do that to eachother in public, it's a matter of respect for eachother more than anything. Why would either one want to cut the other down in front of people? It's rude no matter how you slice it.

He needs to retire. He is starting to say more often silly things that are ludicrous! But in all fairness, when the 700 Club is usually the first to be at disasters with their relief program, "Operation Blessing" they don't make the news. They can be the first to a tragic scene with relief supplies saving lives and helping people 1,000 times a year but once or twice a year when Pat says something absurd it's front page news. Yeah, what he said needs to be challenged and chastised but hasn't every one said at least one or two stupid things a year?

I do this once in awhile myself although I do tend to wait until we are home alone where there is no crowd to embarrass him in front of. Most people do not look surprised, but more perked up to the conversation. And some are even happy he is being challenged, especially if he's wrong and everyone knows it.

It has more to do with Indian mentality that Men are more superior that women, although i think time has changed, Men and women are being treated equally nowadays.
Its the male ego which came between his wife and his macho comes under scrutiny

Because they still have that stupid perception that women should be submissive and just listen to what their husbands are saying and not have an opinion of their own.
