Well I have had Three kids but my first was a real big surprise I had my monthly thing every month until I was 7mos. Sometimes the test are not always right I was Preg. with my Daughter and I new I was and the test showed negative So if you really think you are get a friend to take you to a free clinic they will give you a blood test but if have no problems with the test before us ally a week some times earlier depends on how high the hormone is and do it when you first wake up in the morning it is when the hormon is detectable in your system. I'm also a nurse I deal with this all the time stress can also make you late.

EPT (the error proof test) says that you can find out days after your missed cycle. If you are unregular, that makes it hard to tell. My friends have figured out that if you test approxamately 3 weeks from suspected conception with the EPT, 7 times out of 10 its accurate. (I have many friends in their 20s and 30s.)

The earliest that I've ever heard a home pregnancy test claim to be accurate is 3 days before your missed period.

Two weeks after a missed period. There are new tests which can provide much earlier results, but they still are in their infancy and being used by research laboratories and thus are unavailable for regular use and are too costly.

A blood test that a doctor orders can tell you about a week after ovulation.

It can take up to five days for the egg to embed in the lining of the uterus......a week before your period you can start to take them, the hormone isn't very concentrated but my sister did it, she saw what she didnt' even really think was a line the first day...second day, she thought she might see one....third day...bit more obvious...fourth, def a line....fifth....for sure!
