Try sleeping on the couch or floor or kick your husband out of the bed. Maybe that might work. Try going on a vigorous walk (not too vigorous, but what you can handle) in the early evening so you will be tired out by night-time. Try taking a Tylenol PM because your body changes when pregnant and you might actually respond to it. Try sleeping with a body pillow to curl up to (you'll need the pillow later in your pregnancy anyways). Also try sleeping almost naked for when you're hot but have a blanket nearby for when you get cold. Good luck and Congrats!

Tylenol PM is Tylenol with a sleep aid in it. Try it before you discount it. Things that don't work on you when you are not pregnant could very well work when you are.
Also you could try getting a crossword book to do. If your body is tired but your mind isn't, then this will help.
A nice warm bath and a good book may help to relax you too.
If you have an easier time sleeping on the sofa than in bed, then sleep on the sofa. I used to have to sleep in a big poppasan chair when I was expecting.
Good Luck.

I have 2 suggestions:
if you can doze on the couch you can sleep on the couch.
When I was pregnant I took Bradley classes. Their to get you ready for natural childbirth. Even if your having a medicated birth I think they teach a lot of relaxation techniques that are awsome. My husband would go through these with me each night, and I'll tell you I slept great. If you are interested in this the book I bought was Called "Natural Childbirh the Bradley way". Mainly you need to concentrate on relaxing each body part one at a time all the way down to your toes, and your eyes. Trust me it works.

When I couldn't sleep my doctor told me to drink a glass of milk before going to bed.....now I can only have it at night or I fall asleep! You can also take benadryl it won't harm the baby at all. You HAVE to sleep, if that means taking a few days off and napping on the couch, go for it. Pretty soon you will be in that super tired period where you can't help but sleep. Honey, try sleeping on the couch if thats where your comfortable, maybe with the increased body temperature of the pregnancy you can't take your husbands body heat....instead of lavendar lotions that are only scented...try lavendar essential oil on your feet, its absorbed quickly. If Tylenol PM isn't working, you are having a hormonal in balance, normal! It's causing you to have insomnia. No one ever knows how long this can last, but try to relax, when you can't sleep, don't get up and walk around, just continue to try to relax. Keep away from any caffeine or chocolate. Good luck honey, should end soon.

Well if you cant sleep in your bed maybe its because of comfort? Try getting some extra pillows and seeing if that helps. Also there is nothing wrong with napping where you dose off if it gives you a few minutes of sleep. I know at the begining of both my last 2 pregnancys I had low iron, and I believe it contributed to my tiredness. Maybe you should also speak with your healthcare provider to make sure nothing else is up. Good luck

If you can't fall asleep after a half hour get up and read for a while. Don't stay in bed. Try warm milk. Try light exercise (walking) a few hours before sleep. Try to eliminate naps.

I went through the same thing during my first trimester. My doctor gave me some suppositories that were actually to help with morning sickness...but the side effects make you drowsy. His instructions were to take it at night .. taking something at night that makes you drowsy .. makes for a good night sleep. I'm now in my third trimester and was having trouble sleeping and since my morning sickness came back I started taking them again and I sleep soooo gooood. So ask your doc about them. And just an FYI ..since they ARE suppositories, you will have to take them analy.

I once read somewhere that sleeping on your left side helps somehow.....that may not be the answer to your problem, but it's worth a try?
