okay believe me...i love snakes a lot !!..and i want to buy one as my pet...but my family is just not allowing me !!...how do i convince them ??..

do a power point presentation on how rats are extremely important, we could over populate in rats if we didn't have snakes. and i don't think your parents like rats either.

If having a snake in the house makes anyone nervous, you shouldn't get one. Since I am assuming you do not pay the majority of the bills in the home, you must listen to the person who does, after all it IS their house. This is probably not a "Convincing" situation. That is, you most likely will not find a way to get the people you live with to all agree on a snake. Even an animal as small as a fish, can escape their tank. This could very easily happen to the snake, and if anyone is scared this would not be a good thing for them. I think you may just have to wait until you have a home all your own.

A snake is not like having a dog or cat, they are usually kept in an aquarium with a top on it so it won't be roaming around. I've had boa's before and they can get lice off of the mice you feed them. When it comes down to it the majority rules, and you need to respect their feelings. I'm sure if there was something in the house that you were not conferable with that you would want it out of the house. (like a mouse)

well its a weird pet to want and it is hard work and dangerous! but tell them the real reason why you want it and that you will look after it and take responsibility for the animal and buy food as well!! point out the positive things about it, like, it does not make the hole house dirty like a dog or bark in the middle of the night
and you can put up a board outside your house that says: beware of the snake!!

Snakes? there are so many other pets that deserve a home. Don't be selfish. A snake enjoys it's freedom as much as the birds love to fly. Get something else.

You wait till you move out on your own, then you buy whatever you want. You are never going to convince anyone to like a snake.

U haven't specified u like poisonous or non poisonous snakes.
Anyway try seeing a snake specialist & ask on it's merits &demerits, and convince ur parents through that person.
Even still the whole scenario seems BIZZARE. And ARE U NUTS?????

you wait until you are in your own house, and buy one then. Some people are just not comfortable around snakes. Besides, I suspect you are too young and too irresponsible to own such a hard to look after pet. They eat live rodents, you know?

I love snakes too and I know how to handle them, but my mom would just pass away if i brought one into the house. try promise your folks that it'll be kept in a terrarium from where it cannot escape, and set up a a meeting between your parents and a vet/petshop keeper.
