They are a conteder now. I thoguht they were a contender before this move ad this only helps their chances. Mark Simeno was a big loss but this helps our receiving core. Stallworth brings a deep play threat which the Eagles didnt have. He strecthes the feild downfeild and opens things up for Westbrook and LJ Smith undeneath. Reggie Brown can also catch balls over the middle and do some damage. McNabb can also throw one of the best deep balls in the league. McNabb who has also lost 25 pounds can run more this year keeping a defense honest. Westbrook will do well in the running game along with Corel Buckhalter who has really impressed me in the pre season. Our Offensive line is also better and we have personel who can run block. Our old linemen were more accustomed to pass blocking. Our wide outs are solid. Stallworth brings us an all around receiver that can take it to the house on any play. Reggie Brown is a good player who will get better every year. Avant and Baskett are solid rookies. Greg Lewis is a good vetern who can make some plays. Jabar Gaffney is a good possesion recvier who can catch the ball over the middle. Our Defense has also been solid. We havent allowed a TD by our first string defense. Howard and Bunkly solidify our D-line meaning that teams cant triple cover Jevon Kearse anymore. Our secondary is healthy and when they are healthy they are in the leagues best. Our linebackers are solid with Trotter, Dahani Jones, and Shawn BArber.
Remember: we lost 13 of 22 starters (plus david akers) to injury. Any team who loses 14 of their best players are going to struggle
They are a superbowl caliber team and can do some damage if they can stay healthy.

No.... to win the superbowl the Eagles are going to have to get better at running the ball and relying a lot less on the arm of Donovan McNabb. Don't get me wrong, McNabb is a top notch QB. However, as a Colts fan, I can definitely relate the horrors of what happens when your team passes too much. When the Eagles get a better running game, they can use more play action to open up some of those passes for Donovan. I think Stallworth is an ok pick up but he is not a star or #1 reciever which puts him in the same boat as the rest of the #2 and #3 recievers that the team has.
The Eagles have the talent on defense, and at O-line and QB to be great. They also have the talent at WR to be adequate in the passing game.... now they just need to be able to balance that all out with a good rushing attack.

Yes they could be, but so could alot of teams at the begining of the season. He is a great addition to their team. Here is something else for you, why not go ahead and put a hundred bucks on them to win it all if they are your team. 30/1 odds, nice payback. Good Luck!

Yes i think they can. They've been to the NFC championship with less talent at wideout than they have now. Stallworth has yet to meet expectations, though he did have a good year last season. I think he and reggie brown will both step up and have productive years. The key for this to happen though is that Andy Reid needs to remember how to run the ball. In years past, the eagles have had at least a solid running game with the likes of duce staley and buckhalter. If Westbrook gets handed the ball and the eagles ride him a little more, i think they have a real shot at the superbowl.

I think that with the answers you've received you hopefully have a better view on how very unlikely it is that the Eagles even make the playoffs. McNabb is good, but, he won't see another S.B. As far as the Stallworth thing goes, that's like saying "getting rid of T.O. was the best thing that happened to the Eagles". Both are insane miscalculations. Good luck to you... But you might want to prepare for a long ride downhill that began when Eagles fans showed they had more control over team decisions then the management and started burning T.O.'s effigy. This is football. That was just CRAZY!

The Cowboys received 2 superbowls in a row in the ninety's (1992 and 1993) Patriots received 2 in a row besides (2003 and 2004) the golf eco-friendly Bay Packers received superbowl a million and a pair of ! (1967 and 1968) The Miami Dolphins also received 2 lower back-to-lower back (1973 and 1974) The Pittsburgh Steelers received a pair too (1975 and 1976) The Steelers received 2 SBs in a row two times! (back in 1979 and 1980) The 49ers also received 2 great bowls in a row (1989 and 1990) The Broncos too (1998 and 1999) Sorry that they are not in the right order yet you get the idea.entire 7 communities have received 2 great bowls lower back to lower back.

I'm not an Eagles hater, I'm a Dante Stallworth hater. I'm a Saints fan. I was starting to wonder whether or not that dude was blackmailing Tom Benson as long as he stayed in the N.O. The answer is H- - - NO. The guy misses too many passes. He alone will not be the missing piece.

they could be a contender but its highly unlikely. with the depth of everyone else in the league it will make it that much tougher to do. but even though stallworth is a decent wideout, their other receivers will have to step up their performance. if they don't then you can expect donte to get double covered. this will kill the eagles since they are a passing offense and do not run much.
