free living organisms act as 1 unit! it means it feeds it self and not depend it self to others (well unless reproduction) those single cells in our body are different in terms of dependability. mostly of our cells depend to others and not act as 1 unit per se... they work together thats why we have tissues, organs system and so on.. and they need other system to provide them nutrition like the blood (circulatory system)... whole in whole those different kinds of cells in our body work together as one unit... i hope i answered some of your question

paremeciums can live apart and they can do their own works by themself like eating,and procreate but for exampell himan cell
only do a specific job for exampel blood red cell only carry oxygen for other cells,and nerons do sprcific other jod and ...
