Discrimination in the workplace and wrongful termination?

Just wondering because it's usually issues like homeland security, immigration, social security, healthcare, economy, education, environment talked about on their websites...which it's great that they address those, of course.

I'm curious which party would be the best and most honest in working to fight workplace discrimination (of any kind) and also wrongful termination.

The Democratic party is the party of pro-labor much more so than pro-business. Niether party is in favor of discrimination, but it is far more likely that the Democrats would put forth legislation to change laws in favor of protecting workers further. Republicans, on the other hand, being the more "hands off" party, will generally try to let business owners do what they feel is right without interference.

Thank you for the question. So many people out there are very poorly informed as to what the parties stand for on a broad range of issues, letting media and rumor influence them.

Actually the Libertarian party is more for what you are looking for. The Republicans care mainly about what's happening outside our borders (look at the Katrina and Tsunami disasters for your answer). The Democrats want more social legislation that protect very few people. The Libertarian party cares more about us, then the other two combined.

Oh, by the way, I'm a registered Democrat if anyone wants to know. But that's mainly because to vote in the primaries, you have to be either Republican or Democrat.

Considering that it was republicans that freed the slaves, ended segregation of the military, invited the first black man to dinner at the white house, invited the first black man to stay the night at the white house, got the 63 civil rights legislation passed, put the first black NSA chief, and the first black S/S in place, have nominated more minorities for the the bench and for executive offices than anyone, signed MLK day as a fedreal holiday....I think their record is better than the party of slavery, the party of segregation, the party of the KKK, the party of lynching.......you know, the democrats.

I think in general you would have to trust the Democrats on that one. The Republicans are usually involved with foreign policy issues and pay little attention to home. Democrats are noted in history for worrying about internal issues like healthcare and social problems.

Probably irrelevant as there are PLENTY of federal, state, and, sometimes, local laws in place dealing with workplace issues.

But, if one were to feel the need for EVEN MORE legislation one would definitely want to look to the Democratic Party. It's their main function to take care of people (whether they need it or not!).
