It depends on the noise. If could be a slipping/worn belt, it could be a groaning compressor that might be failing or your system could use a recharge of Freon. Sometimes A/C systems will groan or hum when the Freon is low.

that depends in where you hear the noise, if it is on the interior of the car could be the blower motor,if you hear the noise in the front could be an old belt , or the compressor clucth not working properly

Older cars do that sometimes, I think it's because the ac is taking power from the engine. My car used to do that to, but nothing ever happened.

It could be the belt that connects to the A/C compressor-- check the belt -- it may be loose or in need of a replacement.

ur fan belt is about to snap so go and get a new one or there isnt going to be any a/c after its gone but good luck

have your air conditioning drive belt adjusted if need replacing, replace it. if it snaps into. this belt controls everything your water pump your alternator and all.
