Tell her not to stress, I was in the same position as her, I never found it to be a problem and my competitive side found it was kind of nice once I got to college to be a bit farther ahead than all my friends were at my age....even if only a year ahead....

Age doesn't matter, in school it is all about who your friends are...unfortunetally...

Well I think its fine. People are sometimes surprised when they find out you're really young, but other then that, everything should be fine. At school, i'm in 8th grade and a year or two younger then everyone else, but my friends treat me the same way they treat everyone, not as an outcast. Tell your daughter that its ok to be younger then everyone else, they'll accept her as she is.

She sounds like an intelligent girl. Others will accept her and some will try to use her for her smarts. Tell her to beware of those that say I'll be your friend they maybe trying to stay smart like her.
