The body has not been found. The main suspect, Joran van der Sloot is now at university here in Holland. A witness, who was later found to be unreliable, told the authorities where they could find the body...They never did. Ethel Twitty ( Natalee's mother) files a civil suit against Joran and his father ( a judge on Aruba), I don't know what is happening or has happened with that.

Another suspect was arrested back in May. They have not recovered her body or learned what happened to her.
I doubt she's alive or that she ran away. From what I've heard, one side of the island or Aruba is pretty harsh - rough water, high, jagged cliffs, etc. Odds are they disposed of her on that side and there's simply nothing left to recover by now, especially over a year later.

I am not that up-to-date with it, but as far as I know, her body has not been found, and the investigation is still going on. They have arrested a few suspects in the past, but I don't think they have found the person who knows what happened yet.

The waters around Aruba are infested with sharks. Those kids slipped her a micky, it was too much for her and she had a heart attack. Instead of getting her help, they freaked and dumped her body in the water.
